Why Tofu Mail Club?

Growing up, I always thought it would be so cool to have a pen pal. And when I finally went off to college, I made my friends be pen pals with me so I can use up my vast collection of cute Sanrio stationery. We wrote handwritten letters to each other to update each other on our life and how college has been, and I've kept every one of them after all these years.

I loved getting personalized snail mail and reading what my friends have been up to. It made me feel warm just knowing how much thought was put into each piece of mail, and I wanted to continue this through Tofu Mail Club. Nothing is more comforting than getting a surprise in the mail and reading a letter. 

Anyways, so why journaling stickers?

Collecting sentimental items has always been a huge part of my life. Things like tickets, brochures, and random packaging have piled up in boxes at home until I decided last year that I should put them into a journal. I came across Junk Journaling and loved the idea! Though, I don't love the name, since none of this is junk to me lol. And so I fell down the rabbit hole of this so-called "Junk" Journaling and bought my first journal, a Midori! Since then, I've found it very therapeutic to be able to put my collected paper items into a journal that I'll enjoy flipping through in the future. In my journal ecosystem, I also have a planner that I use almost daily and use for general notes, and another journal just for thoughts. In all of these, I find that I want to add small stickers in them to match the theme or mood! There's only so much that I can find at my local Daiso, so I decided to start making some of my own! 

I'm starting this mail club so that I can be more consistent with creating. I enjoy designing and curating these sticker sheets, and with everything else going on in my life, I sometimes forget to revisit what makes me happy. I want to share my stickers with others looking for some cute add-ons for their journals, and what better way to do that then starting a mail club? Tofu Mail Club encompasses everything that I love-- artistic freedom, consistency, and sharing my journal stickers (:
